Three dedicated parameters
DeClicker is comprised of three main sections, De-Pop, De-Click and De-Crackle. Each of the three sections correlates to the different kinds of unwanted artefacts you might find in historic recordings or problem field recordings. Armed with both threshold and sensitivity levels per section, with DeClicker you can target specific ranges of artefacts in your audio with completely customised levels of control. Each of the sections deals with events from 10ms, 3ms and 0.4ms in duration respectively, allowing you to effectively eliminate all manner of unwanted noises within your audio signal.
The threshold controls determine how many events are detected while the sensitivity controls determine how many of those detected events go on to be repaired. Once these levels have been determined, they will be plotted on the unique Excitation Profile.
Innovative graphical interface
Presented with a unique interface that's unlike any other, the Oxford DeClicker includes both a graphical interface alongside an Excitation Profile interface. Displayed in a separate window, the Excitation Profile maps the level between the artefacts and the noise floor, enabling you to determine the correct threshold level by using the onboard slider.
Unlike any other plug-in, DeClicker presents a graphical interface with each click represented as a bubble with green being used for pops, blue for clicks and white for crackles to correspond to the individual section colours. The size and height of the bubbles will change depending on the loudness of the click within your audio file. An even greater level of detail is provided with the ability to label each click by the timecode or bar/beat they lie within your project. Having such a clear and concise window to view any artefacts allows you to quickly identify offending peaks versus regular content in your audio signal.
Exclusion Box
Powered by highly intelligent algorithms, DeClicker provides incredible accuracy for detecting unwanted clicks. Regardless of the settings you create, some sounds such as raspy brass will trigger false positives leading to unwanted suppression. To avoid this happening, an Exclusion Box can be drawn directly onto the graphical display to define a frequency area and threshold level where suppression should not take place. This Exclusion Box is fully automatable, meaning you can bring it in and out of a long session as and when is required.
Perfectly process spoken word material
When in the field, you are exposed to the elements. Conducting interviews outdoors, capturing dialogue on film sets in the outdoors or theatre narration can all be subject to uncontrollable extraneous noises, clicks and pops. DeClicker introduces Dialogue mode to let you more accurately tailor the response of your plug-in to your source material to get the cleanest sound possible. An intelligent processor, Dialogue mode addresses specific problems that occur within the vocal range, offering different parameters and settings for the background noise and dialogue independently. The process of setting two parameters allows you to save time in the studio, eliminating the need for editing and automation, and letting you focus on the more creative aspect of your music or post-production project.
