About Solid State Logic
Solid State Logic is a pioneering force in the audio industry, renowned for its innovation in analogue and digital audio consoles. Established in 1969 by Colin Sanders CBE, SSL began with switching systems for pipe organs, before evolving into a leading provider of creative tools for live, studio, film, and broadcast professionals.
SSL’s journey started with the creation of the first A Series console in 1976. The SL 4000 E Series, introduced in 1979, revolutionised music recording and set the standard for professional studios. This era of innovation continued with the SL 9000 J Series, featuring the acclaimed SuperAnalogue™️ design, which offered high bandwidth and low distortion.
In the 1990s, SSL expanded into digital technology with products like ScreenSound and VisionTrack. The A Series digital consoles, launched in the 1990s, catered to music production, broadcast, and post-production, establishing SSL as a leader in digital audio solutions.
The 2000s saw the launch of the C100 On-Air and C200 production consoles, bringing advanced digital technology to broadcast and production. The AWS and Duality consoles, combining analogue processing with DAW control, became central to SSL’s music production range. These consoles offered features such as motorised fader automation and Total Recall.
In the 2010s, SSL introduced products like Sigma and the L500 Live console, expanding its reach to project studios and live sound production. The System T console, launched in 2016, addressed the needs of broadcast production with IP infrastructure. SSL’s Delta-Control automation system integrated analogue console automation with DAW workflows, enhancing its AWS and Duality consoles.
Acquired by Audiotonix in 2017, SSL continues to innovate with products like Fusion, SiX, and ORIGIN. SSL’s commitment to quality and innovation makes it a preferred choice for audio professionals worldwide.
