Doepfer A-183-4 Quad Level Shifter

Get your levels right. The Doepfer A-183-4 Quad Level Shifter is an essential module, required if the level of a digital control signal has to be increased or decreased. Typical applications include the conversion of a gate, trigger or clock signal with +5V voltage level to +12 voltage level.

The output voltage level can be set by means of a jumper +12V or +5V. Once the output level is set by the jumper, this becomes universal for all four units provided by the A-183-4. LED's provide visual feedback of the four output signals.

The outputs and inputs of the four sub-units are normalled via the switching contacts of the input sockets. This means that, when no cables are attached, the output signal of the upper unit is used as input signal of the unit below, continued throughout the module. This ensures the A-183-4 can also be used as a clock/trigger/gate buffer or buffered multiple for digital signals. For this the signal that has to be buffered is connected to input 1. The buffered (and possible level shifted) signal then appears at all four outputs.
