The Doepfer A-120 24dB Low Pass is a must-have for sound design, providing the means to filter out high-frequency content - great for use with external synth modules. This voltage-controlled 24dB filter is great for sound shaping, providing you with controls for adjusting the cutoff frequency as well as two dials for adjusting the control voltage level/modulation of the cutoff.


Utilises the classic 'transistor ladder' design, the A-120 Low Pass module features a cutoff slope of 24 dB per octave. This filter style is the same as those found in the most iconic semi-modular synthesizers renowned for its smooth and musical character.


One of the most unique controls is the 'Emphasis' parameter which will adjust the filter's resonance helping to emphasise the frequencies surrounding the cutoff point. When pushed to the maximum setting, the filter can self-oscillate and starts behaving like sine wave. You can use this a unique effect or use the VCF as an additional oscillator for your Eurorack system.

Capable of self-oscillation

Setting itself apart from conventional low pass modules, the A-120 can be pushed to the extreme, allowing the filter to self-oscillate. Self-oscillation can be used as a musical effect or as a voice source; with the A-120 filter capable of behaving like a sine wave oscillator. This makes it a highly versatile module, allowing you to filter signals or generate your own sine wave for sound design applications.

Versatile connectivity with three CV inputs

With five connections in total, the A-120 gives you all the patch points you need to achieve the sound you want. The CV 1 socket provides you with a standard voltage control input adhering to the 1V/octave rule like conventional VCOs. CV 2 and 3 provide the ability to control the voltage level as well as the intensity of the modulation effect on the filter.
