Geddy Lee is a Canadian born musician, singer and songwriter primarily known as the lead vocalist and bassist in the Canadian rock group Rush. Lee's style and technique on the bass guitar has inspired many bassists over the years, and his work is still as popular today as it was in the 1970s. Geddy has used the SansAmp RBI and/or the SansAmp RPM in his rig since 2001, and has recently partnered with Tech 21 to design a signature SansAmp, the GED-2112. This challenging collaboration involved minimising powerful equipment into a single rackspace, resulting in a new format for Parallel Pre-Amping, with two separate internal pre-amps that run in parallel.
This streamlined preamp features parallel preamping, including two separate preamps called Drive and Deep that run in parallel. The Drive pre-amp section is based upon the versatile SansAmp RPM, for a wide range of sonic possibilities. The Deep pre-amp section offers low end boost for thick, meaty tones that will cut through any mix. For added effect, the EQ curve is pre-set to Geddy's personal specs.
The Geddy Lee preamp features a rugged design with a compact profile that will fit in a 1U rackmount, for portability and storage. This unit is ideal for any level of player, especially gigging musicians.
