Mahogany body and neck

Constructed from a mahogany body and neck with a set-in design, the PRS S2 Vela offers a warm and resonant tone with plenty of depth and grind. Mahogany is a medium to heavy wood, creating a strong and sturdy design that will stand up to the gigging musician's lifestyle. The neck’s set-in construction delivers an advanced sustain, as the increased contact between the neck and body allows vibrations to transfers easily between the neck heel and body.

PRS plate-style bridge

The PRS designed plate-style bridge holds two brass saddles specifically designed for great sustain and perfect intonation, allowing both rhythm and lead tones to sound amazing no matter where you are on the fretboard. The fixed design also improve string and tuning stability to provide a smooth playing experience.

Versatile DS-01 and Type-D pickups

Equipped with a DS-01 humbucker in the bridge position and Type-D single-coil in the neck, the Vela delivers beautifully bright, punchy tones with some noteworthy bite. The Type-D pickup offers a luscious vintage vibe, with an exceptionally lively and dynamic feel to make single notes scream with power.
