Illuminate your tone

Articulate, responsive, dynamic. The illuminator pickups in the BFR JP15 were designed specifically for John Petrucci's signature guitar. This means they have a response and tone which many guitarists are searching for. With an incredibly high output, they can give all the power you need, whilst offering plenty of dynamism to help you sculpt your own desired tone. Both the bridge and the neck pickup have immense clarity, presence, and punch, allowing your playing to cut through any mix. Having the ability to go from high gain, overdriven mayhem to a more expressive, fluid sound, you'll find they complement all styles of playing.

This guitar has a secret. It is also loaded with a piezo pickup underneath the bridge, which can take its sound to a new dimension. When using this feature, your guitar will produce an acoustic style sound which is clean, vibrant and rich with flavour. Unlike the high output Illuminators, the tone is softer and twangier. In this sense, the JP15 is almost like two instruments in one, and you'll be able to dramatically change your sound any time you like.

Brimming with brilliant tone. This BFR JP15's body is crafted from okoume, for a well-rounded base that's augmented with a thin layer of maple, bringing an extra-snappy presence to the tone. All this is crowned with a warm and resonant, solid rosewood top. Not only does this add an exceptional visual appeal, matching the neck and fingerboard, but completes the overall tone with a full-bodied mid-range punch.

With a bespoke heel shape, the JP15 offers unprecedented comfort and agility along the entire fretboard.

Enhanced control system

In a class of its own. If you ever find yourself wanting a bit more gain in your tone, you can use the 20+ dB push/push control on this guitar's volume knob to boost it instantly. This will increase your gain significantly and bring raw power to your sound. There's also a push/push function on the tone knob, which allows you to change the tone of the pickups. When the pickup selector is in the middle position, you can use this function to increase/decrease the output of the pickups for a major sonic shift. There is also a mono/stereo jack and adjustable trim pots on the back to give you ultimate control over your sound. With these controls, you can easily mould and diversify your tone on the spot, giving you greater creative freedom when making music.

The custom John Petrucci Music Man floating tremolo bridge ensures your tuning is always stable, whilst allowing you to use the whammy bar as much as you please.

Schaller M6-IND locking machine heads also help to hold your tuning, whilst their chrome plated, hardened steel construction makes them strong and durable. The truss rod is completely adjustable without having to remove any components, and the electrics are well protected by the aluminium control cover and graphite acrylic resin coated body cavity. With custom JP15 inlays, this guitar is a work of art and a feat of engineering, and as such, a truly exceptional instrument.
