Key Features
Product Ref: 81065
The Dark Side Workstation is hand-made and includes an analog fuzz with a 24-bit DSP engine, which offers a full host of delay, rotary, uni-vibe, phase and flange tones. This versatile unit is the perfect tool for experimental players who are seeking a unique sound. This easy-to-use workstation is made up of individual sections including Fuzz, Delay and Modulation, and its initial looks aren't as intimidating as they seem.
The Dark side features a vintage fuzz effect reminiscent of 1977 op-amp style sounds, and provides you with a vintage edge. This fuzz effect is unique as Keeley strive to extract the nuances of earlier transistor based fuzzes, and offer a fuzz effect exactly how it once sounded. The end result delivers a transparent big Fuzz that delivers a superb sustain, and maintains the character of your original tone.
The Delay section features 12 syncopated multi-head echoes with various filter settings which deliver an effect similar to the original multi-head tape delay units. Each delay setting delivers a rhythmic, warm tone and offers a full range of control options to include modern features such as an expression pedal (sold separately) to control the number of repeats.
Finally, the third part of this clever unit is the Modulation side, which features four parts including Flanger, Rotary Speaker Cabinet, U-Vibe and Phaser. This versatile section allows you to blend between the Flanger and the Rotary cabinet for a unique choice of sounds.
In addition to offering a a full selection of creative sounds, the Dark Side Workstation also features a TRS insert for adding effects in between the Fuzz and Modulation/Delay side of the pedal. This is an ideal solution if you have an additional phaser or chorus pedal that you want to add into the mix. The unit also includes an input for a TRS-style expression pedal (sold separately) which is highly recommended for making quick and easy adjustments on the fly.
As well as offering a full choice of tones, the Dark Side Workstation features sturdy metal housing, along with top mounted jacks. By having the jacks inputs/outputs at the top of the unit, you can maximise the space on your pedalboard and sit pedals closer to each other.
"David Gilmour is a guitar icon, not just for his playing, but also his immense, pedal-loaded tone - something Keeley has sought to capture in its new Dark Side Workstation multi-effects." Music Radar
