The Ibanez JBM9999 Jake Bowen is a high performance, no compromise signature instrument. Designed to meet the specifications of Bowen, it's born to perform, with every component boasting world class refinement. That all starts with a set of custom made, and custom voiced JB-inspired pickups. At the bridge is a humbucker which roars with all the unrelenting, earth-shattering growls that Bowen is known for, while a mini humbucker at the neck grants you those razor sharp sonics for lead sections.
Ripping tones, supreme playability. Made in Ibanez's Japanese factory, no attention to detail has been spared here. The neck and fretboard have been honed to an exact degree to ensure maximum playing speed. Shaped into a super slim profile, and hosting a luscious, smooth ebony board, they truly encourage total riffing freedom. And even better, while you're hammering out those expansive licks you won't slip out of tune, thanks to the duo of a Gibraltar Elite Bridge and some Gotoh locking tuners, you're guaranteed total stability. Don't settle for less, enhance your performance with a signature special that'll slice through any mix.

An integral part of the progressive metal masters "Periphery", Bowen is a heavy-hitter for meaty riffs and sizzling solos. Since 2010, his band have been key figures in popularising the new genre known as "djent" that's inspired new generations of musicians. Their songs regularly feature visceral, punchy chords mixed with sweeping, technical riffs. This exciting, energetic style is reflected in the JBM9999, which has all the tools to recreate this dynamic style.
Monstrous sonics. The JBM9999 boasts a set of pickups that are specifically designed to capture Bowen's signature sound and grant you a fearsome amount of tonal firepower. At the bridge is a mighty humbucker that possesses a guttural snarl. Thick, warm, and weighty, its tone has massive presence with a defined low-end, excellent for roaring out those chugs and aggressive chords.
Over at the neck is a slanted dual-rail single coil. Brimming with a piercing sonic presence, this pickup has a razor-sharp edge that can rip through a mix. Thanks to the dual rails, it's got plenty of output for high-gain thrills, and combined with its neck position you can get a smooth lead sound that's not overly harsh.
Dynamic sound. The pickups are formidable, and their electronics are exceptional. Armed with a 5-way switch, you've got plenty of textures to sample to change up your sound on-the-fly. There's the standard, neck, middle and bridge positions that utilise the full character of each (or both!) pickups. But where things get even more interesting are those in between positions…
Position 2 puts the neck dual-rail into parallel connection, which moderately reduces its output. This backs off the gain and works great for cleans by providing that sparkling, crystalline sound. Over at position 4, you're getting half of each humbucker running together. This creates a boosted single-coil type sound that can give your rhythm sections plenty of bite, helping you slice through an ensemble.
Built for speed. This is an Ibanez that's shred ready, and gives you total playing freedom. Featuring a JBM profiled 5pc maple / walnut neck, you'll enjoy a superior playing attack. It's ultra-thin, smooth, and responsive to make your riffs fluid and position changes swift. It plays fast, and it'll play long, because that slim shape is so easy to hold you won't get tired. Even better, the 5 piece construction means it's extraordinarily resistant to temperature and humidity changes, affording you total reliability for performing.
Combined with a gorgeous ebony fretboard, you're going to be unstoppable. It's a supremely sleek surface that encourages your best technical playing. It's so smooth, that navigating the whopping 27 frets is a breeze, and you'll be able to get from one end to the other in a flash. Your speed is enhanced by the Prestige fret edge treatment, meaning you'll get nothing but comfort when you're racing around the fretboard. And finished off with Luminlay side dots, you'll be able to navigate the board in total darkness - perfect for those dim stage environments!
It's built to play fast, and it's built to play reliably. Giving you the kind of quality that only comes from the Japanese Prestige, the JBM9999 is loaded with excellent, top-tier hardware. That starts with a Gibraltar Elite bridge and Gotoh locking tuners, that work in tandem to keep a vice grip on your strings and secure your tuning for a set. You can thrash away at the meanest metal, and still be in tune at the end of the night.
But they don't just give you stability, no, because that bridge teams with a Graph Tech Black Tusq XL nut to ensure clear, resonant string vibrations and exceptional transference. The end result? Loads of sustain! Every note is going hit with hurricane force thanks to this setup - not to mention the string through body design which lifts your note longevity even further! A guitar for the true metalhead and performance purist, the JBM9999 is here to make the world bow before your skills.
