One thing that really stands out with the Godin xtSA is its use of custom electronics that make the guitar incredibly versatile, allowing it to suit a multitude of different musical styles. The Godin HSH pickup configuration with a GHN1 at the neck, a GHB1 at the bridge, and a GS1 in the middle ensures, in combination with a five-way switch, that the player can actively sculpt their sound. This of course works with onboard volume and tone dials for a fully customisable experience. But it doesn’t stop there…
This Godin guitar creates a fully authentic acoustic voice thanks to its inbuilt preamp and three-band EQ, which is supported by an RMC transducer saddle, that increases the projection of the acoustic voice. This selection of voices can be furthered by a 13-pin connector, that can be utilised to create a synth sound with access to a Roland GR Series synth and other 13-pin devices.
A top choice of tonewoodsThe Godin xtSA is crafted with a fantastic selection of tonewoods, all of which work to enhance the natural sound of the guitar, The body is mainly constructed from Silver Leaf maple which keeps the tonal characteristics tight with a brilliant bright resonance that possesses complete tonal projection. The wings of the body are made from poplar, which is famously well-balanced, and too holds a nice resonance. This is all perfectly topped off with a flame maple veneer that give the sound the final boost.
The Godin guitar comes equipped to offer premium playability for a fantastic feel. A Richlite fingerboard offers smooth freeing playability. Richlite is a sustainable material that was originally conceived as a replacement for ebony and rosewood fingerboards, it provides crisp plucks and fantastic articulation, and the fact is constructed from recycled paper and phenolic resin makes it an eco-friendly option favoured by manufacturers.
