Equipped with a brand new Shadow Performer Tuner preamp and Nanoflex pickup, you can take the AJ-220SCE to the stage, studio, or the rehearsal room with ease. These high quality Shadow electronics are designed to bring you a great acoustic tone whilst plugged-in via its unique and flexible Nanoflex pickup. This incredible low-impedance pickup senses not only the string vibrations, but senses the vibrations of the guitar's top and body for a truly natural and faithful projection of your acoustic tone. Additionally, with the Shadow Performer Tuner preamp, you are able to shape your amplified tone with ease thanks to preamp's professional features which include rotary controls for master volume, bass, and treble. Once you've tailored your amplified tone to suit your individual playing style, a convenient phase button can be used to reduce undesirable feedback while plugged in. Lastly, the Shadow Performer preamp also has a built-in chromatic tuner that offers quick and precise tuning whether performing acoustically or amplified.

Unique Body for a Distinct Voice

The AJ-220SCE Electro Acoustic features Epiphone's 'Advanced Jumbo' (AJ) body, which is designed to resemble a bell-shape with an enlarged lower bout and a narrower upper bout. The result of this unique design enables the guitar to produce overall tonal balance with crisp, sweet highs and deep, rich-sounding lows. Additionally, the AJ body also offers a focused, clear, yet tight mid-range with an excellent response to both picking and strumming. You can play seated or standing and still find comfort throughout each performance, as its unique shape is easy to hold close to the body whilst its small, round upper bout makes playability that bit easier. For added comfort, the AJ-220SCE features a Venetian cutaway, also providing easy access to upper frets - perfect for improving technique in more challenging positions.

Constructed from mahogany, the AJ-220SCE's neck offers a quick and dynamic response with added warmth and resonance. The neck also features a slim taper which provides incredibly fluid hand flexibility, perfect for solo work and fast-paced picking styles. For added comfort, the solid mahogany neck also features a C-shaped profile, preventing the likeliness of a cramping hand. Furthermore, the neck is topped with a granadillo fingerboard which adds a bright attack with great sustain to the guitar's overall sound.
