The Meinl Marathon Designer Series Conga 12 1/2'' has been crafted to the highest standard for professional use. Two-ply siam oak shell produces a bright, resonant tone. Meinl Buffalo heads are weatherproof, durable and responsive. Finished with robust hardware to keep your conga sounding great.
Robust hardware ensures your conga always sounds perfect. The Designer Series Conga comes with a Steely II Conga Stand that features a patented design. Notches allow for quick height adjustability. A U-shaped notch allows quick set up and tear down, while ergonomic rubber bracing provides more stability. On the conga, 8mm strong tuning lugs are robust and keep your tuning in tact. Meinl Conga Savers are included to prevent damage. You can place them over your lugs and the conga will still be tune-able.
All Meinl congas go through a rigorous manufacturing and quality control process. Wood is sawn and then bent into a curved shape using a large press. The staves are checked for consistency, then assembled into a conga-like shape by hand. Cut to profile in a lathe, sanded and painted - each conga then goes to the careful and meticulous work of the quality control team.
