English Yew. The Medieval archer's choice, transformed into a beautiful shell. The British Drum Co. 'The Archer' 14 x 6" Yew Snare Drum has been lovingly handcrafted in the UK, using methods that ensure pristine sonic quality. Yew is a durable, flexibility tempered wood that produces warm, fat tones reminiscent of maple ? its destiny was to become an exquisite snare drum...
British Drum Co have made that a reality. The 10-ply shell features 30 roundover bearing edges which add further 'meat' to an already lusciously warm sounding shell. Equally, Yew offers a lively brightness adding that much needed top-end. Sounds gorgeous and looks the part, with aesthetic touches like the arrow badge, and an attractive golden BDC badge embellished with green sycamore to symbolise its English lineage. The 5mm rolled steel single-flange hoops look and sound pretty special too...

Sometimes it's best to view things from a distance — the Medieval times for example. The Archer however, is a snare drum you want to experience up close to embrace the luscious, expressive sounds it can produce. The aesthetic details you can really see and feel when you have The Archer in your hands. Looking closely you'll find gold-plated tension rods, vintage style mini-claws and a stunning golden badge embellished in green sycamore. You might find the coveted 'b' logo in a few places too.
The British Drum Co. 'The Archer' 14 x 6" Yew Snare Drum achieves a unique sound through its carefully considered design aspects. The shell is cold-pressed which means it is moulded without the use of heat. The lack of a heating process means you get the best possible sound from the drum, as its sonic qualities are not altered. This takes longer, but it's worth every second for the far superior tone it provides.
The British Drum Co. worked long and hard on the development of Palladium hardware. Inspired by the Art Deco period of art and design with its unique geometric patterns, both the sound and appearance were a careful consideration in its design. The chrome plated steel design ensures your snare drum is practical, sounds incredible and looks beautiful.
