Featuring a '60s style soft V neck profile the Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Stratocaster provides improved sustain and fuller tonality due to the thicker profile whilst the soft contours of the neck allow a smooth playability with the option of over the top style playing.
The Fender Tex-Mex Pickups are a set of high output single coil Strat pickups which deliver a crisp and warm tone similar to that of vintage Stratocaster pickups but with added energy and clarity. Incorporating alnico 5 magnets with staggered pole pieces the Tex-Mex pickups produce impressive smooth and warm clean tone, and a sharp gain attack without the hum often found with single coil pickups.
Jimmie Vaughan is an American blues rock guitarist born in 1951. Brother of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie is an iconic blues guitarist who has released multiple full band and solo albums over the years, a few of which are considered to be the most important "white blues" recordings to date. Shortly after Fender released the first Mexican Strat in the 90s, Jimmie approached them about getting a signature version made which led to his endorsement and multiple signature models.
