THe Sigma MA-1 A-Style Mandolin, Sunburst is delicately crafted from maple, with a solid spruce top for a rich, warm tone with a broad dynamic range. For added acoustic projection, a pair of classic F holes are incorporated into the spruce soundboard, and also maintain the MA-1's classic look. Spruce & Maple Tonewoods

Like other Mandolins from Sigma, the MA-1 features an A style body shape, combining comfort and tone in one instrument. With a spruce top, the Sigma MA-1 delivers a broad dynamic range that accommodates many different playing styles. Spruce also produces a strong projection, as well as a strong soundboard. Combined with a maple body, the Sigma MA-1 offers a warm tone with perfect sustain and responsiveness, and an overall versatile tone. A polished rosewood bridge is also featured on this model, and offers perfect intonation.

Real Bone Nut Offers Resonance

The SIG-MA-1 also features a real bone nut, providing greater resonance and sustain, when compared to other materials. Its rigid properties provides a longer lasting nut, and will keep your strings perfectly in place without slippage. A real bone nut also maintains the classic appearance.

D'Addario EJ74 Strings For An Optimum Tone

The MA-1 also includes a set of D'Addario EJ74 strings, designed especially for Mandolins. These strings produce a warm and bright tone, with the perfect blend of tension and projection. Each string is precision wound with corrosion resistant phosphor bronze onto a carefully drawn, hexagonally shaped, high carbon steel core, producing a bright sound, along with great intonation.

Ornate Appointments

Not only does the Sigma MA-1 offer the perfect tone, it also includes a full host of ornate appointments that add to its classic appearance. The tuning machines feature a 4-on-a-plate design, along with intricate detailing and grained ivory buttons. A mother of pearl logo adorns the headstock, and adds a touch of class. In addition, this stunning mandolin features an detailed tailpiece, classic F sound holes, and a unique fingerboard design.
